Corbridge Crescent

Restoring and repairing the canal to create moorings at an historic wharf on the Regent’s Canal

About

London Waterways Projects first approached Canal & River Trust about developing this site as a social enterprise following the publishing of the GLA Moor or Less Report in 2013. After working with the Trust and contractor partners for over three years we are finally able to confirm that we are now taking possession of the site.

This site will test and pioneer our approach to moorings provision – on the basis of need and connection to the local area. Through developing fixed price moorings we hope to enable individuals and families with most need, or who have a strong connection to the local area (perhaps through work or school) to put down roots without having to leave the water.

Initially London Waterways Projects will operate Corbridge Crescent on a short term agreement with the Trust, during which time we will repair and restore the site railings and sow the seeds of a mooring community. We will use this time to finalise details of far more extensive works to repair the canal wall and bring full services to the site.

When completed the site will have space for 6 boats, however in the interim period we have 4 leisure berths that are now open for applications for a fixed term moorings for 5 months from mid March 2017.

The interim moorings do not include any services however works to improve the site may result in temporary services being available during the short term moorings period. Prices for moorings during the initial interim period are based exclusively on site overheads and immediate works costs in order to minimise mooring fees.

Accordingly short term moorings fees are: £375 + VAT per month.

Please note that due to site restrictions narrow-beam craft will be permitted on the site during the short term mooring period.

How to Apply

Moorings applications have a standard form requesting details about you and your boat. Applications will be reviewed in line with site objectives and may also involve a face to face conversation with short-listed applicants.

If you want to apply for short term mooring at this site please visit the mooring application page and select Corbridge Crescent Short Term in the site selection dropdown when you complete the form.

If you want to apply for moorings at the site on a long term basis please select Corbridge Crescent Long Term from the same form.

Please Note:

Short term moorings applications for the site will be only be accepted until midnight 25 February 2017. Long Term applications will remain open until later in the year when the full works programme has been confirmed. We currently anticipate works on site will be underway in the autumn with long term moorings available winter 2017. Full pricing for long term moorings will be announced once works and timings are confirmed.
