Dumb Barge > Smart Infrastructure was a academic project looking at re-purposing redundant hopper barges around the waterway network into mobile recycling centres able to be serviced cheaply by water making use of existing canalside waste handling facilities.

The project was presented to “dragons” at City Hall as part of the finals of the GLA Low Carbon Entrepreneur programme in 2014. The project remains on hold pending funding for a pilot.
