Pop Up Trade Moorings

We are really pleased to be able to announce not one but TWO managed sites specifically geared up to support roving traders.

The first of what we hope will become a wider network of trading sites, we are happy to formally announce our long term trade berth next to the Olympic Park at Sweetwater. Our successful bid (in a competitive tender organised by Canal & River Trust) will see the mooring principally occupied by Moo Canoes’ Milk Float as a base for their canoe & kayak hire fleet. By working closely with our partners Moo Canoes and The Alfred Le Roy the trade berth will also be made available for pop up bookings by roving traders and be a embarkation point for Alfred Le Roy’s cocktail cruises on the River Lee and around the Olympic Park. To find out more about Sweetwater and the mooring visit the mooring page here.

In addition to our own mooring in Hackney Wick we are also hugely excited to be managing pop-up trade bookings across London at Paddington Basin’s Floating Park in collaboration with Merchant Square. The 730 SQ M floating park was designed by acclaimed garden designer Tony Woods and was opened by Merchant Square in early summer 2017. The park features lush planting to encourage wildlife, and relaxing lawns with seating alongside two trade boat moorings accessed through the dramatic fan bridge – possibly the most stylish arrival at any mooring on the canal network. To find out more visit the mooring page here.

How to Book:

For roving traders looking to book a mooring at one of our trade berths, there is typically a flat fee of £20+VAT per day to cover admin overheads. Ordinarily, moorings are bookable from one day through to a maximum of two weeks per booking (to comply with canal cruising requirements). If you are interested in a longer stay at any site or are interesting in making use of a site for a corporate event, please get in touch and we’ll work with you to try to accommodate your needs.

To enquire about booking a spot at either of the mooring sites please send an email to Trade@LondonWaterwaysProjects.co.uk listing the site(s) and approximate dates you are interested in along with a brief description of your boat and business.

Lastly if you operate a not for profit or other community focused business and would find paying the admin fee difficult we will consider reducing or in some cases waiving the admin fees to support your activity – just get in touch!
